CHEAP, JUNKYARD, BOOSTED SWAP MOTORS. L67 3800 V6 VS 4.8L LS! WHO MAKES MORE STOCK & WITH MODS?
LS swaps have been all the rage for the last several years, and we’re big fans for sure, but what about some of the other junkyard engine swap options? Richard Holdener refers to them as the “Other Guys” and people love him for pointing out other cool engine combos. It’s funny, because some of these other engines he tests don’t have the aftermarket support for swap parts that the LS does, but wouldn’t take too much to swap into some of the normal rides we all like to hot rod. In fact, lots of factory parts would come in handy with some of them, like this 3800 V6 that he’s talking about in this video. These engines are great, and came in a lot of stuff, and they supercharged versions like this one make some steam. But we’ll let Richard tell you all about that as he compares a supercharged 3800 V6 to a 4.8 LS.
Watch, because he’s not just leaving them stock, and in fact decides that both just might need a turbo.
