Toyota has today made the first customer delivery of the new LandCruiser 300 Series. It marks the start of retail sales of the legendary SUV, following the resumption of right-hand drive LandCruiser production in Japan in November.
Following initial demonstrator only availability in dealerships to support test drives when the LandCruiser 300 Series was launched in early October, and after significant COVID impacted delays, shiny new SUVs are now beginning to arrive here.
“We would like to thank our customers for their understanding. It has been a challenging few months, with COVID-19 causing production stoppages in Japan and elsewhere across the region,” Toyota Australia VP of sales, marketing and franchise operations Sean Hanley said.

“We are pleased to announce that with Toyota’s production in Japan restored to normal levels in December, LandCruisers are now starting to land in Australia ready to be delivered to their new owners,” he added.
“Our Dealers have the latest information on customers’ individual orders and expected delivery timing, and we thank our customers again for their patience.”
The new LandCruiser 300 Series is offered in the core grades of GX, GXL, VX and Sahara with two new flagships – the luxury Sahara ZX and off-road-focussed GR Sport.
All grades are powered by a new 227kW/700Nm 3.3-litre twin-turbo diesel engine that drives all four wheels through a 10-speed automatic transmission.
The stylish new lightweight body is underpinned by a new body-on-frame Toyota New Global Architecture (TNGA) platform that delivers greater rigidity, improved ride comfort and superb dynamic handling on and off-road.
It features an array of electronic assistance technologies to ensure it is the most capable, safest LandCruiser ever.
Exhaust Notes Australia is aware that a number of dealers have not received any cars for delivery to customers yet, but reminds readers that today is the start of the supply process.
